Constructing Excellence Monthly Newsletter February 2021

Constructing Excellence

Welcome

Hello and welcome to the February edition of our newsletter. We’ve got lots to update you on from revealing the brilliant projects and organisations that won at last months Awards through to our event reports and upcoming activities.

Our work with the Value Toolkit continues at pace. The next round of supply chain workshops in collaboration with the Supply Chain School are now open for registration and provide an opportunity to delve into what the Toolkit could mean for your business. We have just finished the first round of workshops with our regional centres, where we mapped regional policy drivers against Value Definition Framework to identify regional strategic drivers. These are now being refined and the next stage will be to prioritise these in advance of producing a set of regional value profiles later this year.  A huge thanks to our regional partners for making these workshops so worthwhile!

We’ve got some brilliant meetings and workshops taking place in March, ranging from insights into our award winners with the Offsite Group, Collaborative Working Mentors exploring collaboration in the engineering construction sector, ECI looking at Advanced Work Packaging, Digital looking at Artificial Intelligence and the Performance Measurement Forum looking at digital collaboration. Make sure you get involved and make the most out of your involvement with Constructing Excellence!

How to curate a high street fit for a post pandemic world

2020 is likely to go down in history as the year that changed the face of high street retail forever. With 2,500 and 130 units respectively, the absence of these high street retail giants could leave a significant area of vacant space in town and city centres across the UK.

In the Blog “How to curate a high street fit for a post pandemic world” Jack Strickland, Building Refurbishment Management at UKAEA and Chair of G4C Oxford, is talking about inevitable changes in the high street retailers’ operations and implementation of the redevelopment schemes for the town centres.
