The G4C North West Regional Awards are back for 2026
These awards are a celebration of the achievements of the next generation in the North West region and the companies who support and train the future leaders of the industry.
The G4C North West awards will showcase excellence and reward achievement for organisations and individuals who are successfully pushing our industry forward. This event is a great opportunity for companies who are proactively supporting and leading innovation within the built environment. The event is to be held on 4th June 2026.

Deadline for entries: 3rd May 2026

The G4C Future Leader Award celebrates the younger generation of construction and seeks to showcase the hard work and leadership of these up-and-coming professionals. This should be a person with less than ten years of experience in the industry (typically less than 30 years of age).
Regional winners of this category will be automatically entered into the National Constructing Excellence Awards where the National G4C Future Leader will be awarded.
Judges are looking for:
- Active engagement within the construction industry.
- A positive impact on their peers, their organisation and the wider industry.
- A proven track record of driving change- how is the individual is pushing boundaries and shaping construction?
- Examples of strong leadership characteristics- inspirational, influential, collaborative and visionary.
- A clear focus for the future, both within their own career and development and for the industry as a whole.

This award is for an apprentice and celebrates the commitment to honing their skills to become proficient professionals. Whether they are just starting out on their apprenticeship journey or have recently completed it, this award acknowledges their achievements. It serves as a symbol of encouragement and motivation for apprentices to continue growing and excelling in their chosen career.
Judges are looking for:
- Apprentices (Technical or Trade) who are working towards, or have completed, an apprenticeship within the last 12 months.
- Exemplars who showcase the difference they have made in the industry and organisations that they work in.
- Entries should demonstrate how the person has created a positive impact on the industry, organisations or college through a commitment to personal development.

This award is for individuals who have shown a commitment to developing the future leaders of the industry, investing time and nurturing while offering support and guidance.
Judges are looking for:
- Applicants who show commitment to developing, nurturing and encouraging new entrants into the industry, offering unbiased guidance.
- An individual with good knowledge of current topics in the built environment and an understanding of the changing industry.
- Applicants with a keen interest in mentoring with the aim of influencing mentees to become one of the future leaders of the industry, contributing towards delivering a better industry.

This award is for a student who is working towards a Higher Degree Apprentice or Further Education within the last 12 months. It celebrates their hard work, perseverance, and passion for continuous learning and personal growth. As recipients of this award, these students showcase the importance of lifelong learning and the pursuit of excellence.
Judges are looking for:
- Exemplars who stand out from the crowd with outstanding achievement and success showcasing the difference they have made in the industry or their organisation.
- Positive impact on the industry, organisations or education establishment through a commitment of personal development and academic excellence.
- Students who demonstrate high skill and motivation while aiming to become one of the future leaders of the industry contributing towards delivering a better industry as a whole.

This award is for young professionals who are currently undertaking or have completed construction & built environment work-related training within the last 12 months. Training can include short courses, industry recognised training and personal development.
Judges are looking for:
- Exemplars that stand out from the crowd with outstanding achievements and commitment to training & development showing self motivation.
- An individual who has progressed through their career and adapted to industry change.
- Applicants who demonstrate achievements throughout their career or academic life.
- Demonstration of developed communication, team and leadership skills while aiming to become one of the future leaders of the industry contributing towards delivering a better industry.

This award is for a young professional who excelled in the industry, striving to make great contributions to the industry while demonstrating exemplary performance in their field of expertise & standing out from their peers.
Judges are looking for:
- Candidates who have completed professional studies within construction and the built environment sector within the past 36 months.
- Applicants who demonstrate exemplary performance in their field of expertise standing out from their peers e.g. This can be demonstrated through high technical ability, client & customer focus, projects or engaging and responding to the demands faced by clients and the industry.
- Applicants who demonstrate achievements throughout their career and how they have developed communication, team and leadership skills while aiming to become one of the future leaders of the industry contributing towards delivering a better industry as a whole.

This award is open for organisations who have demonstrated a sustained commitment to employee development.
Judges are looking for:
- A company that has a strategic plan that includes driving performance via professional development.
- An organisation that invests time and resources into their employees and sets clear targets, providing staff with regular appraisals and feedback.
- Organisations that promote development, providing opportunities across the company and demonstrating improvements resulting from targeted training and development.
- Organisations that gain particular respect from the workforce and community through workforce development, skills and training.
