Tamara joined ENGIE as a Social Value Officer in March 2020 with no previous experience in the role but had a passion and enthusiasm to deliver meaningful and targeted Social Value as part of our contractual CSR commitments in Manchester and Cheshire East.
ENGIE have a range of commitments on each contract which include Employment and Skills support and advice in the Community and School settings, Community Volunteering, Work Experience and specific support to Care Leavers as part of our commitment to the Care Leavers Covenant.
After 2 weeks in post the first National Lockdown was implemented in response to CV19 pandemic and has been working from home for the past 12 months. The lockdown resulted in Schools, Charities and 3rd Sector organisations being closed for many months resulting in it being impossible for ENGIE to engage directly to offer support.
Tamara took an innovative and creative approach to this challenge and during the first lockdown period developed a range of resources which could be delivered virtually via TEAMS to ensure our support, in a time when it was needed more than ever, would continue.
