Risks
- Phase-2 ground conditions (water table under existing building affecting bearing capacity).
- BOC Tanks (proximity to new building footprint)
- LinAc & CT SIM machine selection undertaken as late as possible to ensure most technologically advanced machine is procured. Careful programme/design planning to accommodate late brief changes.
- Existing Link Building Incorporates RAAC Panels.
Three Winning Facts:
- 650NR 5400kg pre-cast interlocking shielding units used to form 2NR LinAc Bunkers. Overall, Bunker Weight 3,500,000KG, constructed in just 8-weeks, which is paramount to Sectional Completion date for Employer LinAc machine installation – vital to begin patient treatment on-time.
- Ground conditions in Phase-2 (beneath existing Antenatal Building) low bearing capacity. Solution formulated with Employer/Design team to avoid foundation re-design and mitigate delay from 22-weeks to 10-weeks.
- Foreign Exchange Risk for Nelco LinAc Bunkers (£ to $). Process formulised to allocate robust risk allowance for Employer and closely manage/control expenditure. £200k saving against Employer £250k allowance. Programme delivery imperative to avoid/close risk as early as possible.
