We are delighted to announce that Talis Skinner and Martha Maurice-Smith have been appointed as the new Co-Chairs for G4C (Generation for Change) Yorkshire and Humber.
Taking over from Rosie James after her successful year as Chair, Martha and Talis are excited to step up and lead the G4C community in their region. They bring a shared passion for the industry and a commitment to championing the next generation of construction professionals.
Meet the Chairs

Talis Skinner
Talis is a Junior Marketing Executive at Lambson Innovate. She began her career in the built environment after graduating from the University of Sheffield with a degree in Business Management. Her first role in the sector was as Marketing Executive at Polydeck, where she spearheaded marketing activities for their specialist GRP solutions, including bridges, boardwalks, and anti-slip flooring. Now at Lambson Innovate, she works as part of a product and marketing innovation team, focusing on the development of products and market expansion alongside day-to-day marketing activities. Talis is already a familiar face within the region, having led G4C Yorkshire & Humber’s marketing activities for the past year and served as Rosie James’ right hand during the organisation of the 2025 Awards. This year, Talis is taking the lead on the annual Awards and is eager to use her experience to grow the G4C community, deliver high-impact events, and ensure the voices of young professionals are heard throughout the region.
Martha Maurice-Smith
Martha is a Business Manager at Spencer Building and Civils, part of the Hull-based Spencer Group. After graduating from the University of Sheffield with a BSc in Psychology, Martha’s journey into construction began in Executive Search within the industrial engineering sectors. Since joining Spencers in 2024 to help grow their Buildings & Civil Engineering Division, she has built her knowledge of port infrastructure, energy generation, and distribution and bulk material handling industries, as well as developing relationships with people of all levels across the UK. Starting from scratch, she learnt quickly and began to understand the intricacies of the construction sector and what she had to offer. Martha joined G4C to connect with the next generation of industry leaders and is passionate about the richness of people within the sector. She has already made a significant impact on the committee, taking the lead on G4C Yorkshire and Humber’s first networking event in Hull, which was a resounding success. Martha is dedicated to encouraging new talent to join the industry to future-proof the skills and innovations needed for generations to come.
Driving Engagement in Yorkshire & Humber
Together, Talis and Martha look forward to continuing the momentum built over the last year. Their focus will be on further developing the G4C community by working closely with the growing committee to offer a diverse range of useful events and networking opportunities.
Central to their upcoming plans is the annual G4C Yorkshire and Humber Awards Night, which celebrates the rising talent and exceptional achievements of young professionals across the region.
