Jill is currently a Deputy Director in Campus Services at Teesside University, with responsibility for delivering all capital projects, including delivery of the University’s Net Zero Industry Innovation Centre, the first Teesside Building to achieve BREEAM Outstanding and meet the RIBA Net Zero Embodied Carbon 2025 targets.

With over 30 years’ experience in the industry as a Chartered Surveyor initially working in consultancy then moved to be the Head of Estates at the British Antarctic Survey, responsible for the management of construction & maintenance at all the British scientific research stations in the Antarctic. Working closely with climate scientist seeing first-hand the science behind the environmental impact of buildings and their use.

Jill leads on embedding ESG into the procurement and delivery of capital projects and is a member of the University’s ESG Strategy Group.
