Katy is a Senior Project Manager at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, with 7 years of experience working in the construction industry. As part of her role, Katy has successfully delivered a number of projects, within the budget and programme, and to the desired quality.
Katy also dedicates a lot of her personal time to volunteering within the construction industry with the National Association of Women in Construction, as it’s Co-Founder and Campaign Manager. As part of her voluntary campaign manager role, Katy has commanded change across the construction industry and beyond through the PPE campaign – aiming to address the inequalities in PPE provision and design among minority groups across the industry. The campaign has had a reach of over 6 million people across the globe on social media and major international news outlets.
Receiving praise at Government Minister level, Katy has become a leading light in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the women in the construction industry. In addition, Katy was invited to join a British Standards Committee for BS 30417 to develop the new standard for inclusive personal protective equipment.
Katy has also recently been invited to join the CIOB West Yorkshire committee, where she will be able to further influence industry leaders on matters affecting the UK construction industry.
