Fitzalan High School

Constructing Excellence

Fitzalan High School is a new £65 million education facility for Cardiff City Council. The school will provide state of the art facilities for 1,500 pupils, with nearly 100 Classrooms, and an 1800 seat multi-function hall. The building will also have a 4 lane, 25m swimming pool, and 4 very high-quality sports pitches. The school is scheduled for completion in the 22/23 academic year.

Cardiff council issued rigorous Employers Information Requirements (EIR), and Asset Information Requirements (AIR), to comply with the 1192 suite of documents, which contained a heavy COBie deliverable, and will capture all of the buildings asset information, which will be incorporated into their CAFM system on completion.

Kier have recently implemented their Digital Transformation Programme known as Digital by Default, which has introduced new software applications to modernise and consolidate our technology use. The innovative tools, methods and processes that capture, manipulate and exploit data across the entire project have been introduced on the project, capturing the design and construction phases and then into the in-use operational phase.
