Digital Construction Theme Group

The Digital Construction Theme Group previously identified a knowledge gap for robust case studies that clearly demonstrate the benefits of digital construction. Case Studies in the past have lacked rigour in applied statistical methods and suffered from poor quality of data. This meant that the derived findings were only partially meaningful and associated actions only moderately effective in improving the construction industry. The BRE Trust is now funding a Digital Construction Case Study project jointly delivered by Constructing Excellence and the BRE BIM team that seeks to establish what really drives project success to inform industry change initiatives based on evidence rather than anecdote.

Project manager Thomas Lindner from the BRE BIM team will present the progress so far and future plans as it moves into delivery phase. This will give the Constructing Excellence Digital Construction Theme Group a chance to provide feedback as a key stakeholder in the process.
