Digital Drop In May – the Causes of Poor Interoperability

12 May, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am BST

Constructing Excellence

For a long time, Constructing Excellence has talked about the importance of shared systems and processes to successful collaboration. Organisations need reliable information to support decision making. However, in the construction and asset management industries, software often fails to facilitate this. Poor interoperability can make it hard for partners to collaborate; it can also make it hard for asset owners to control the data they need to operate their assets.

CE’s May 2022 Digital Dropin will discuss the causes of poor interoperability, the challenges it creates, and steps being taken to improve how information is securely exchanged between people and the systems they use. The Government & Industry Interoperability Group (GIIG) aims to help the built environment industry deliver, and benefit from, interoperable information. Paul Wilkinson, who leads one of the GIIG’s workstreams, will talk about proposals to develop a Technologies Code of Practice for Interoperable Information.
