Construction Innovation Hub Future Skills Workshop

12 March, 2020 @ 8:30 am - 1:30 pm GMT

Future Skills Requirements Workshop – to enable effective asset and project performance

Your chance to influence the Government’s agenda

We are delighted to report that Constructing Excellence is now the official delivery partner when it comes to Adoption for the exciting Construction Industry Hub Government led campaign to transform the UK Construction sector. A number of key topics are being considered the first of which is future skills. We are delighted to be able to offer CESW members and supporters the opportunity to influence the government agenda by attending this Future Skills Workshop in Bristol on Thursday 12th March 2020. We have been seeking this level of influence within CESW for some time so now we have it please use it. If you have an interest in the future skills needs of our sector please make sure you are represented.

What are the future skills needed to unlock better performance? Given what the literature is saying about construction skills, what do YOU need?

In this half-day workshop, we will identify and share skills challenges for the future of construction, specifically around asset and project performance. We will build on existing work in this arena, prioritise and refine skills needs based on your context. We will develop training one-liners, use cases and requirements for your future training needs.

The skills themes we will focus on are:
• Quality: how can we ensure quality construction products and that projects are executed consistently across the full lifecycle?
• Whole-life Value: how can projects and assets move beyond economics and serve all pillars of sustainability?
• Assurance and Compliance: how will we ensure assurance and compliance of components and assemblies over the full lifecycle?
