On Wednesday 29th January 2025 we held our annual conference, with a focus on the theme, ‘Delivering Excellence: Better for the Planet, Better for Society, and Better for the Bottom Line’, exploring how we can deliver better, not only in these key areas, but also for the future of the industry as a whole.
The event was well received and provided a great opportunity for delegates to share in the passion, innovation and dedication to improvement that is driving change in construction right now. We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who attended and hope that this event will inspire many of you to go on and strive to ‘deliver excellence’ within your organisations!

The panellists’ discussion focused on value-based decision making within construction- how do we do it? How do we measure it? How can we do it better?
They also explored how the Value Toolkit can help change the way the industry thinks about and measures value and outcomes for the better.
Better for the Planet
This panel explored how to minimise emissions and industry’s impact on the environment through transparent data, sustainable procurement, maximising circularity opportunities, aligned standards, educating clients and uptake of emerging technologies.
Better for Society
This discussion explored the need for a built environment that is fit for the society it serves. How can we deliver a society that serves all? How do we understand, design for and deliver projects that support the needs of the world we live in? Where are the best practice examples that we can look towards to help guide us on our journey to a better industry?

We were joined by several of the Constructing Excellence Group Chairs and partners who delivered an overview of the work these groups have undertaken to date and where they will be focusing over the coming year.
Better for the Bottom Line
This panel explored productivity, collaboration and the implementation of new technologies through the lens of ‘Constructing the Gold Standard Verification’. They looked at the positive impact frameworks can have upon the supply chain, the real value frameworks can deliver to clients and how to foster the right behaviours to unlock potential benefits.
Value Toolkit
At the Conference we were delighted to announce that Constructing Excellence is now the open distributor of the Value Toolkit – the leading government and industry-backed initiative driving a ‘value first’ approach in construction.
Developed in partnership with over 200 experts from across industry and Government to help redefine value and how to measure it. The Value Toolkit enables value-based decision making focused on driving better social, environmental and economic outcomes, improving industry’s impact on current and future generations.
Constructing Excellence is working with a cohort of the organisations that were involved in the development of the Toolkit to create a community or practice around value-based decision-making and to drive implementation. Join our LinkedIn Community here.
