Ana is a passionate Mechanical Engineer in the Buildings Team at Arup, Bristol. She has been involved in the design of a number of multi-disciplinary, innovative and sustainable designs for challenging projects, including concert halls, universities, data centres and offices. Her interests encompass the design of building services systems and their integration with resource-efficient architecture, 3D design innovation, energy modelling, sustainability and user experience.
Ana’s contribution to the industry has already been widely recognised through nomination for several awards, including the CIBSE ASHRAE Graduate of the Year in 2017, CIBSE South West Regional Student of the Year 2015 and RIBA Bronze President’s Medal in 2016. She is diligently working towards her chartership and is making every effort to be on track in a career that suits her skills and ambitions. She is undertaking a distance learning Msc in Building Services and Management at Brunel University, London, whilst working full-time.
Ana is an excellent ambassador for our profession in the various ‘extra-curricular’ activities she undertakes. She has retained a close link with her University where she has been asked back to lecture students of Architecture & Environmental Engineering related courses. She is a STEM ambassador and enjoys volunteering for events where she can encourage young people to consider engineering related jobs. She also has a key role on the CIBSE and the Young Engineers’ Network (YEN) committees as the regional Communications Manager.
