Launched in April 2024, the be:ONE partnership is an innovative and ground-breaking collaboration designed to deliver exceptional value by breaking down traditional barriers in the sector.
believe housing, a social landlord, has successfully formed a major works delivery arrangement that collaborates with a main contractor RE:GEN Group, and three SME’s—Buston & Maughan Group, Sendrig Construction, and Sunter Limited—making this a truly unique approach in the sector.
The partnership, with a total value of £62.4m, aims to deliver significant improvements to around 5,600 homes over four years. Works focus on increasing energy efficiency, reducing carbon footprint, and lowering residents’ bills through a range of upgrade and new technologies as well as traditional home improvements such as kitchens, bathrooms, roofing, and full electrical rewiring.
What sets the be:ONE partnership apart is its commitment to sharing best practices, improving collective buying power, and increasing its social value offering. This collaborative approach not only drives down costs but also enhances customer service, delivery and uplifts the construction industry through sharing resource.
The partnership also emphasises creating local jobs and apprenticeships, with 84% of the workforce from the local area. Since April 2024, nine apprenticeships have already been created.
In its first year, the partnership has already achieved significant outcomes: customer satisfaction is at an impressive 98%, and significant sums invested into local communities through long-term social value initiatives, including transforming two redundant rooms at Hartlepool College into cutting-edge workshops for student learning.
