The sustainability through mitigation of disposal off site and reduction of quarry stone importation via chemical remediation combined with geotechnical soil stabilisation was carried out during our extensive land remediation and soil stabilisation at Rhenus Logistics new HQ in Manchester. CPUK Civils and Remediation completed the remediation of this 3.3 acre former landfill site prior to the commencement of construction of the new 50,000sqft industrial warehouse. The site has been remediated, re-profiled and then stabilised with our specialist equipment by our in-house team prior to piling operations commencing. Our CPUK liaison manager liaised with Peel Developments for all approvals, discharge licenses and wayleaves to finalise risk assessments, method statements and
supervise an alternative design solution. The alternative design has mitigated all material disposal from site and significantly reduced the stone import by up to 89% providing time, cost and lorry movement savings. The works were completed on time and to budget.
