Morgan Sindall is working as Liverpool City Council (LCC)’s contractor partner to deliver its planned works at Paddington Village – a mixed use development forming part of Liverpool’s Mayor designated Development Zone known as the Knowledge Quarter. Paddington Village supports LCC’s vision to build on the city’s thriving life science sector, and will provide a variety of workspaces for science, technology, education and health, along with associated living accommodation, restaurants, cafes and shops. The ‘Infrastructure and Public Realm’ (I&PR) is a complex and crucial civil engineering project to remodel the land to form the serviceable building
plots and create a public realm which will tie the scheme together and make the place a destination.
The project is Morgan Sindall’s initial works package on the Phase 1 Central site which also includes projects onsite and in preconstruction such as The Spine (the new headquarters for the Royal College of Physicians) and a 100 bed hotel. We are expected to deliver in the region of £150m of works throughout this phase. Together with the future Phase 2 – 3 ‘North and South’ sites Paddington Village will deliver around £1bn of development across one million square feet of new build accommodation. The development is capable of creating upwards of 10,000 new jobs and wil
contribute vastly to Liverpool’s economy and continued regeneration of the city. The best practice and innovations put in place by Morgan Sindall on the ‘Infrastructure and Public Realm’ phase will ensure that value for money, collaboration, social value and inclusive growth is embedded into Paddington Village right from the first stages of construction and will benefit the Liverpool City Region for years to come.
