Our people play a key part in achieving our vision, which can only be achieved through commitment, experience and continuous professional development. Esh provides a range of opportunities for training and professional development.
Esh Construction provides unique opportunities for staff to gain valuable skills and experience in an ever changing and dynamic industry in the hope of recruiting and maintaining talented employees across the business. Our recruitment, training and community initiatives support communities in which we operate and provide job opportunities, apprenticeships, work experience, year placements and introductions to the world of work and STEM career opportunities within construction in the hope of inspiring young minds to join not only Esh Construction but the construction industry as a whole and contribute to reducing the skills shortage.
We recruit and maintain talent by empowering staff to learn and progress in their careers, implementing and driving change, leading to a content workforce who deliver high quality construction schemes. This investment in our workforce also addresses the aging workforce and training of existing staff and new entrants to fill the roles in the future. Mentoring by our team has been successful in supporting individual development.
Many of our staff contribute to the BMS programme by discussing their route into construction with the students taking part in the programme. This highlights the different routes available and the different roles within the construction industry.
We aim to be an employer of choice who can offer career choice within the different companies across Esh Group and the opportunity to train with different departments and gain valuable firsthand experience. When employees are given the tools to do their jobs well and training to advance their careers, they feel supported and happy. Not only are they likely to remain with Esh longer, but they also perform and contribute to the overall growth of the company.
Our people development initiatives also contribute to the wellbeing of our team through the provision of information and training, the creation of a positive working environment. To support staff wellbeing 47 colleagues across the company have completed the accredited Mental Health First Aid England training course, offering drop in sessions and support via a dedicated email address.
Esh work in partnership with our clients to support local communities by organising and supporting opportunities for our workforce to take part in volunteering activities which provide benefit to local residents. We provide labour, time and budget for materials and equipment.
