Morro Partnerships

Constructing Excellence

At Morro Partnerships we pride ourselves on being “better community makers,” deeply integrating social purpose and ethical practices into our core operations. We don’t just build homes; we build futures, actively fostering inclusivity and creating lasting positive change in the areas we serve. This is evidenced through our sustainable employment, early careers initiatives, environmental cohesion, engaging with the third sector and charities, doing business ethically, and community interventions.

Our commitment is underscored by the strategic appointment of a Head of Social Purpose in February 2024 to drive our comprehensive ESG initiative. This has allowed us to commit fully to driving impactful social value delivery, going beyond project requirements.

Our commitment extends to sustainable employment, evidenced by employing 10 direct apprentices from diverse backgrounds, including care leavers and neurodiverse candidates. We also lead in environmental responsibility, segregating and recycling 90% of on-site materials, with anything leftover being recycled off-site, reused, donated or going into energy from waste – the overarching goal is ‘zero to landfill’.

This holistic approach ensures that every Morro project leaves a positive, tangible legacy, not just in the structures we build, but in the lives and communities we touch. Our “people-first” ethos underpins our entire operation, from strategic partnerships to grassroots initiatives, cementing our reputation as a trusted and impactful developer.

Three Winning Facts:
  1. Exceptional social value investment: We engage actively with local communities through site visits for students of all ages and, in 2024, Morro generated £5.7 million in social value, contributing 181 staff volunteering hours and £33,000 in cash/resources to local initiatives.
  2. Leading diversity and inclusion for an SME: Despite being an SME with ~100 staff, Morro’s D&I efforts, including diverse apprentice recruitment, are commended as best-in-class, comparable to large built environment corporations.
  3. Proactive resource reuse and waste reduction: Through our partnership with Bakers Environmental, we achieved a 70% on-site waste segregation and recycling rate, donating 14.5 tonnes of materials to good causes in 2024, including partnerships like HMP Fosse Way for reclaimed timber.
