MGL Group

Constructing Excellence

With over 53 years of experience, our family business upholds the core morals and ethics that underpin our operations. Trust, integrity, community engagement, sustainability and safety are deeply ingrained in our values.

We take great pride in our dedicated workforce. Many are long-serving employees, and some have been with us for 40 years! With over 470 skilled individuals across our sites and offices, their extensive knowledge and experience ensure high-quality workmanship and strong partnerships.

MGL Group’s purpose and values are increasingly important in acquiring and retaining staff. Employee wellbeing is at the heart of our organisation. We prioritise creating a culture of belonging and care for our employees; investing in our people is crucial for our long-term success. As a learning organisation, we are committed to creating an environment where our people can grow and develop alongside us. Through personalised learning experiences, qualifications, and training opportunities, we aim to provide everyone with the opportunities to thrive.

Prioritising purpose, values, and people, we aim to attract, inspire, and empower a diverse group of talented individuals who will contribute to our future workforce. By doing so, we can better understand and meet the needs of our customers and the wider community.

Our comprehensive diversity strategy emphasises inclusivity in recruitment, professional development, and leadership roles. We consistently assess employee satisfaction and benchmark our progress against industry standards to promote organisational diversity. By prioritising employee wellbeing and fostering a culture of continuous learning, we are committed to achieving individual and organisational success.

Three Winning Facts:

  2. Maintained Gold Membership to The 5% Club highlighting our commitment to earn and learn schemes. We currently have 30 young people following apprenticeships and higher education routes across ten disciplines, which accounts for approximately 7% of the Group’s total employees.
  3. To enhance our people’s and communities’ wellbeing, we have strategically shaped, developed, and implemented initiatives that position us as a regional leader in delivering social value. Many have recognised our efforts, including the Durham Police and Crime Commissioner’s Office.
