Alex Small is the Digital Platforms & Innovation lead for Tata Steel UK. This role involves the delivery of product information for Tata Steel’s UK businesses as well as the digital reach and interlock of the business through its data and platforms. Alex sits on several international and Europena standards committees as well as several working groups including CPE’s Digital Task Group and GS1’s UK Construction group.

Alex has been leading Tata Steel UK’s involvement in Digital Product Passports and industrialised construction. He is also the founder of the Manufacturers’ Information Hub – a pan-European project to standardise and simplify manufacturers’ product information flows. Alex is a keen advocate for structured data, IoT, Digital twins, AI, DfMA, offsite construction and an integrated, digital, built environment.
