2020/21 was set to be an exciting year for us celebrating our 50th anniversary. With big plans in place to make this year our best yet, we were on course to grow our profit and pipeline whilst recognising our team for their contributions to the business.
When the pandemic hit in March 2020our celebrations sadly had to be put on hold due to the significant challenge it presented to our business. Our time was focused on navigating through an unprecedented time and ensuring our people were safeguarded.
The multifaceted challenge for our business included a reduced source of clients, volatile supply chains, staff shortages and increased cost of labour. In addition to the integral management of remote and live site teams within ever-changing macro and micro-environments.
Two of our biggest clients, Manchester Airport and the University of Manchester, were also hit hard by the pandemic and to sustain our business we had to source new clients. Although this was challenging, it resulted in us landing contracts with The Hut Group, ITV, OneManchester, Stockport Council and BASF.
We strongly believe that our Mission of ‘people first’ and Value of being ‘built on trust’ are the reasons why we have not only retained all staff but increased our workforce and client base during this difficult time. Our improved efficiencies and reinforced client relationships have resulted in a more resilient business which is on track to increase its turnover by 57% vs 2019.
