Knowl Park House – Social Value

Constructing Excellence

Knowl Park House Dementia Care Centre is a stand-out project, showcasing what can be achieved through true collaboration and teamwork. The project team embraced the social value goals, fully engaging with local businesses and the community, to deliver and exceed the social value targets, leaving a lasting legacy in the community.

From the outset the whole team worked together to identify ways to not only meet, but also improve on the targets that had been agreed at tender stage. Working in collaboration with our supply chain and social value experts, we were able to deliver economic, environmental, wellbeing and social benefits to the Kirklees area.

Working with our design team and supply chain we reduced the carbon footprint of the new building, created employment opportunities, supported skills and training, helped reduce carbon emissions, supported local charities and community groups, hosted site visits and benefitted the local economy through local spend.

Three Winning Facts:
  1. The team have delivered an amazing 259% against the initial social value targets, going over and above the original commitments that were agreed with the client team.
  2. The project has created seven new employment opportunities, supported over 300 apprenticeship training weeks and provided 29 work placement weeks.
  3. The project has generated an amazing 43% social return on investment to date.
