Due to KLA-U.K.’s significant growth the company made a significant capital investment of more than £100M to construct a new high-tech 19509m2 R&D and manufacturing facility in Newport accommodating 750-employees.

KLA-U.K. entered into a Development Agreement with Trebor Developments to deliver the new facility with Andrew Scott Ltd appointed as main Contractor.

The new facility underpins KLA-U.K.’s local growth plans requiring additional high-technology jobs in support of its continued development of wafer processing solutions for high-growth secular industries. The facility also builds on KLA-U.K.’s expertise in advance packaging and compound semi-conductor processing technologies.

Reflecting the company’s commitment to its environmental goals for the new facility, KLA-U.K. adopted the globally recognised, science-based sustainable and energy efficient design standards with the new facility designed to achieving BREEAM Excellent rating.

Inside the striking design are three floors of high-quality working environments, providing staff with modern workspaces, flexible breakout areas and a staff restaurant. With staff wellbeing a priority, the facility includes a gymnasium and a footpath to support employee fitness and health along with ample secure cycle storage and shower facilities. 47no. EV charging points installed to accommodate the use of more sustainable vehicle choices.
