JPA Workspaces – One Desk at a Time

Constructing Excellence

JPA Workspaces is a second-generation family business in St Albans with 19 passionate staff. Our purpose is to be the ‘Trusted, expert designer and provider of workspaces that are better for People and Planet’. Unanimously endorsed by shareholders, directors and leadership team, it drives every decision and action taken.

Celebrating our 50th year in 2024, we’re committed to supplying, maintaining and decommissioning workspaces at the furniture end of the construction industry, across all contract sectors. Our business model incorporates a mix of tangible products and intangible services, designed and combined to meet client objectives through responsible environmental procurement.

Services span the complete furniture lifecycle including space-design, product-selection, installation, operational maintenance, decommissioning, take-back, re-sale/re-homing and materials recycling – enabled by our owned fitting-teams, logistics, warehousing and Local Operation.

Workspace design and furnishings determine operational capacity, performance and user wellbeing. It’s also carbon hungry and often wasteful. Our Climate Strategy is preventative. It’s centred on furniture longevity, making the most of existing furniture resources, saving unnecessary carbon-emissions, impacts on natural-resources and impacts on biodiversity from the manufacture of new. New furniture is quality-built retaining residual value when no longer required for a greater chance of re-use and second life. We report carbon savings for clients to add the data to their own carbon and ESG reports.

We champion climate action and co-founded HertsGoGreen&Grow, a voluntary group helping Hertfordshire organisations to accelerate decarbonisation through knowledge sharing.

Three Winning Facts:
  1. We saved 7x times our Scope 1 & 2 emissions through furniture recycling and rehoming in 2024
  2. Achieved 59% Scope 1 & 2 reduction since 2021 baseline (2023 data, 2024 will be lower)
  3. Founding member of Herts Go Green and Grow – voluntary knowledge sharing group to help Hertfordshire organisations move towards NetZero.
