The project at Fen Drayton consists of 14 new-build affordable homes, designed using a Fabric First Approach that focuses on energy efficiency and sustainability from the outset.
The homes feature MMC Eco-200 panels from LoCal Homes, which offer high embodied carbon, reducing the carbon footprint of each build. The timber frame outperforms masonry construction on a whole life carbon basis by up to 5t CO2e per dwelling, equivalent to 16,500 road miles.
This submission is a winner due to its innovative combination of affordable housing and cutting-edge sustainability solutions, aligning with Excelsior Land’s broader “Think Net Zero” mission.
