Dart Square, Sheffield

Constructing Excellence

The site is directly north of the University of Sheffield’s Arts Tower and Western Bank Library, this provides a pedestrian route into the heart of the University’s campus. Hillside House provides a mix of cluster flats and studio bedroom accommodation for 250 students, with supporting amenity facilities, lounges, study areas and a fitness suite to compliment a high standard of living provision for the residents.

The design of the proposed development has been developed to enhance the local area through providing a gateway to the University quarter of the City. In keeping with the Sheffield City Council document “City Policies and Heights” the development contributes to the skyline through the design and form of the building and includes an active frontage which responds to surrounding pedestrian routes.

The vertical element of the building form, facing onto Winter Street responds to the Arts Tower’s form and is in keeping with the other University buildings nearby.
