Constructing Excellence Newsletter November 2020

Constructing Excellence

Welcome

Hello and welcome to the November edition of our newsletter. The construction industry has been right at the top of the political agenda this month. This week’s spending review has brought significant opportunities with a £1.7 billion National Home Building Fund on top of £12.2 billion Affordable Homes Programme, £4 billion for levelling up local areas and £100 billion capital investment in infrastructure.  On top of that the new National Infrastructure Strategy with a new UK Infrastructure Bank based in the North of England provides significant opportunity to unlock the potential of the sector to deliver better economic and societal outcomes. £200 million Net Zero Innovation Portfolio builds on last week’s announcement of a 10-Point Plan for a Green Industrial Revolution and this sector has a key role in underpinning that revolution.

The team remain busy with the Value Toolkit with another round of workshops planned for next month.  We will be launching our interim report next week and your input is vital to ensure that the toolkit delivers against it full potential to create a better industry delivering better outcomes and value. We are also planning our national awards that will look a little different this year, as you will see below.
