Bull Bridge Mead is a development of eight modular homes in Halstock, Dorset comprising one two-bedroom home and one three-bedroom home for shared ownership, and two one-bedroom homes, one two-bedroom home and three three-bedroom homes for rent.
It forms part of the first tranche of projects that Magna Housing has delivered as part of its commitment to its MMC first philosophy.
Rollalong has partnered with Magna Housing and the South West Procurement Alliance to address the housing crisis in the South West. Through the SWPA’s Offsite Construction of New Homes framework the objective is to build nearly 1,000 modular homes between 2022 and 2025, homes for local people manufactured and installed using local labour and contractors. Wiltshire Council has since joined the collaboration.
The partners are committed to accelerating the delivery of modular homes in the UK, using offsite manufactured, precision-engineered techniques to deliver homes in the area and modernising and speeding up the process.
The partners collaborated to ensure that the homes are of a high standard, and they worked together to overcome the technical challenges. The result is a development of all-electric MMC housing in a rural location.
The four-module solution enables Rollalong to deliver housing in challenging rural locations and on sloping or space-limited sites. Combined with the steps and staggers configuration, this provides greater fire safety and improved acoustics because of the enhanced structure of the homes.
The latest range of homes is net zero carbon ready and net zero carbon living, supporting the Government’s objective of delivering net zero carbon homes by 2050. They are cheaper to run than traditionally built homes, with better insulation and more efficient heating.
Three Winning Facts:

- The only modular manufacturer in the UK with NHBC Accepts System Accreditation in a step and / or stagger configuration.
- Delivering end-to-end collaboration to deliver against the collective demands of the region.
