YORhub’s Delivery of Social Value

Constructing Excellence

YORhub is a suite of collaborative construction procurement frameworks for the public sector in the

Yorkshire & Humber region. Set up and managed by experienced procurement construction specialists from the four lead local authorities working closely with all the local authorities in the region. We believe that a more integrated solution based on continuing and closer relationships with our clients and suppliers is key in achieving the efficiencies, savings and social value benefits that our clients require.

Since the formation of YORhub we have led nationally on how to address key areas of social value including but not limited to the following:

  • Set up the first Framework Employment and Skills Academy with CITB
  • Implemented the first framework supply chain engagement programme to provide opportunities for local SMEs
  • Recognised by government as a national leader for project bank accounts to protect the supply chain
  • Set up the first framework community fund ‘YOR4Good’ that has supported 210 community projects
  • Sustainability is built into YORhub and was first recognised at the Rio Earth Summit by a YORbuild global case study
  • Suppliers sign up to the Carbon Reduction Code for the Built Environment from the Construction Playbook
  • First framework to implement LGA modern slavery guidance
Three Winning Facts:
  1. We’ve helped 2,200 people in the region get back into work
  2. We’ve given 29,000 pupils experience of the construction industry, through site visits and workshops
  3. We’ve awarded around £1.5m in funds to community groups and projects through our YOR4GOOD programme
