Off the back of a significant weather event (Storm Desmond), Cumbria County Council and its Infrastructure Recovery Programme has ‘broken the mould’ in its approach to Programme Management and Supply Chain Collaboration. The County Council has made evolutionary step changes to their business as usual approach, that when combined have been far greater and affective than the sum of their parts. Cumbria County Council has pushed the boundaries, and challenged the team and the Supply Chain, on the art of the possible. They have demonstrated that a local authority can be a leading light in our industry, can be innovative and forward thinking, and can successfully deliver capital programmes in a way that is a departure from the current industry modus operandi.
