Constructing Excellence

Ward Williams Associates (WWA) is proud to be one of the largest independent consultancies in the UK Construction sector. Our growth is based not only on the calibre of our people and our reputation for consistently delivering high-quality projects, but also our commitment to using our business as a force for good – pioneering in Construction.

Our three primary commitments to People, Places and Planet continue to drive us as a business across all that we do, and we aim to influence and collaborate with others to work together for a more sustainable built environment now and in the future.

As a business, our next steps are focused on how we can contribute with others to meet the significant reduction in carbon emissions required from our sector. We are delivering Carbon Leadership across the built and natural environment and Co-chair the B Corp Built Environment – guiding 30 construction B Corps to collaborate on a sustainable development knowledge base and as a platform to share best practice for the people we employ, the communities we work in and the environment.

WWA launched the WWA Futures programme last year with the goal of developing our current workforce and to actively encourage entry into the sector through investment in training, knowledge sharing and creating opportunities to inspire the next generation. We also invest above and beyond to provide support and security for our staff including signing up to the Living Wage Foundation, access to wellbeing and financial advice, resulting in a current retention figure of 91%.

Three Winning Facts:
  1. In 2020, WWA became the first chartered surveyors in the world to achieve B Corporation certification, and in 2021, we were awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development, recognising our pioneering B Corp approach, our ethos of collaboration and the impact we have made on the built environment.
  2. WWA’s joint venture with Mace – the MWJV generated £34.9m in social value to local communities and helped to address some geographically specific issues for Cornwall Council.
  3. Our investment in our teams and culture achieved a Best for the World rating for workers amongst B Corps, reflecting our stewardship approach and has resulted in a current staff retention rate of 91%.
