After spending over a decade in construction recruitment our MD James Kingston felt that there was a gap in the market for a consultancy that could set the new gold standard in recruitment.  In an industry where profits can compromise quality, customer service feels superficial, and recruitment was seen as just a process he found himself asking, “how or why isn’t there a way to deliver an exceptional service as well as an enjoyable experience that delivers on all fronts?”

In 2013, Kingston Barnes was launched. The mission was to create a company that was passionate about delivering the best recruitment in the market, offering an unrivalled experience across every part of the recruitment journey for both clients and candidates – going above & beyond.

Kingston Barnes is recruitment consultancy specialising in the Construction, Manufacturing, Technical Engineering & Logistics industries. We provide market-leading permanent, temporary and contract recruitment services to our clients throughout the UK. Our mission is to be the No1 recruiter to work with and work for.

We are an inclusive company which has created a safe and inspiring environment where individuals can excel. We are proud of our company culture and believe it is key to our success. With 23 employees at various levels from Apprentice to Director we have sustained and encourage all levels of inclusion, equality and diversity. We have just been awarded a Great Place to Work after our staff completed a trust index survey which ranked us 100% as a fair and supportive company to work for. Being treated as a full and inclusive member of the team irrespective of gender, race, age, position and paid fairly and equally for the job they do. The fact 45% of our workforce is female and 40% of our senior management team is also female and all our staff are paid equally is a strong example of our diversity and equality in our business.

We are taking this even further and are now working with different charities and organisations to give equal opportunities and encourage a diverse workforce to our clients and include those not being considered by society / employers. Such as the homeless, previous offenders, long term unemployed and former military personnel.

Kingston Barnes in 2021 broke every record ever set in the business from doubling our turnover to a 35% increase in our team, making more temporary and permanent placements than ever and retaining more staff in our business than we have to date. This is all down to our people, our culture and our inclusive thriving environment.
