Andrew works as a Design & Build Coordinator, working on various projects at Engie which has enabled him to gain experience on a wide range of different construction types and experience in general. He has been seen as a future leader from early on in his career, consistently working outside his comfort zone. Andrew currently over sees schemes valuing a total of £36m.
Andrew also took a key role in delivering the Leeds PFI, on this scheme he managed the Design Review Process which was client facing. This gave Andrew a good grounding and showed he has good communication skills.
Andrew is currently managing and mentoring a trainee, this is allowing him to take the next steps in his career by developing his people management and leadership skills. Allowing him to effectively delegate tasks, manage the work load of others and general people management.
Andrew has created a development plan with key competencies for his role, this is now implemented into the wider team. This plan also has the backing of managers and directors of the company.
Andrew is now pursuing a management course to focus and develop his leadership skills, this will enable him to manage a wider team.
