SUMMARY:Members Forum -  Organisational Resilience - Are we built on a house of cards?
DESCRIPTION:March saw the launch of two significant outputs for Constructing Excellence: The Prospectus on Insurance Backed Alliancing and Organisational Resilience – Are we built on a house of cards? We will be examining these in detail at our members forum on 16 May. \nWe will look in detail at Organisational Resilience in the UK Construction Industry\, authored by Project 5. A particularly significant given some of the current issues affecting the industry. The report’s purpose – to provide an overview of how resilient the industry is in relation to a range of internal and external factors – explores the role of organisational resilience in enabling construction companies to adapt to changing conditions. It addresses the evidence of failure\, posits why they fail\, considers the issues\, areas of risk\, and proposes how to build resilience and the benefits therein of doing so for the individual companies and the sector as a whole. DESCRIPTION:Our next Clients Forum\, chaired by Phil Wilbraham\, will take place on 22nd May at the offices of Turner & Townsend.  We are delighted to be joined by Steve Johnson\, the Executive Director of Estates and Capital Projects at Dudley College. \nSteve will be giving a client perspective on the Dudley Advance II trial project of the Integrated Project Insurance Model (now called Insurance Backed Alliancing).  Steve will consider the reasons behind choosing this model\, what has worked really well\, what hasn’t worked so well and what they would do differently on future projects.  This will be followed by a group discussion on the potential opportunities and risks associated with this model of procurement. \nThe Constructing Excellence Clients Forum is an opportunity for clients to get together with other clients to discuss issues of specific relevance to our client members. \nFor more info email helpdesk@constructingexcellence.org.uk
