SUMMARY:G4C - Collaborate: Achieve More
DESCRIPTION:What does good collaboration look like? Defining the key attributes of effective collaborative working\nG4C invite you to an event\, hosted in the Shard by the Warwick Business School\, to discuss the key attributes of effective collaboration. \nDr. Mehmet Chakkol and Max Finne from Warwick Business School (WBS) will present their latest research identifying the key attributes of effective collaboration. In particular\, the presentation will focus on the psychological and behavioural underpinnings of what makes an effective collaborator. WBS Professors will also discuss the benefits and challenges of effective collaborative working in large-scale projects. The presentations will also include insights from the Institute of Collaborative Working (ICW) drawing on their experience of implementing British standard on collaboration (BS11000) which has recently been approved as an international standard (ISO44001). \nHave you worked in an alliance or joint-venture where lack of collaboration resulted in adverse working conditions? Have you experienced a buyer-supplier relationship where one party attempted to utilise their strengths to bully their counterparts into a corner? Have you worked in a project environment where managers enabled or hindered collaborative working? Or maybe you have experienced only collaborative and positive alliances and would like to tell us how your team have achieved this? \nThis discussion will help us to define how we can all be more productive and manage efficient and mutually beneficial business relationships. The event will provide a great opportunity for networking in an iconic location for any professionals interested in understanding the dynamics of collaborative working. \nGet your free ticket here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/collaborate-achieve-more-tickets-33331519472

SUMMARY:Constructing Excellence February Members' Forum
DESCRIPTION:This Members’ Forum will focus on offsite construction\, pre-manufactured solutions\, and industrialisation. It is open to all national members of Constructing Excellence and by invitation to members of their supply chain who wish to influence the future work of Constructing Excellence at a national level in this arena. \nIn his review of the UK construction labour model entitled Modernise or Die published in October (#FarmerReview)\, Mark Farmer identified industrialisation and delivery through pre-manufactured methods as key in many sectors to addressing our ailments of low productivity\, low predictability\, low margins\, adversarial pricing\, lack of collaboration & improvement culture\, lack of R&D and investment in innovation\, and poor image. \nIn this forum we wish to develop a programme to support the implementation of Mark Farmer’s report\, and in particular to inform members’ strategies for high-productivity pre-manufactured propositions. \nSpeakers will include: \n\nMark Farmer\, CEO at Cast Consultancy and author of the Farmer Review:\nDarren Richards of Built Environment Hub on the current state of the offsite market\nRichard Crosby\, Partner\, Blacc Consulting LLP on the challenges of pre-manufactured solutions\nSimon Reid\, Managing Director and Richard Daw of Scape’s Lungfish business on their model in the education sector\n\nMembers are invited to nominate key players from their demand or supply chain who would value from participation in the event – and subsequently from joining Constructing Excellence to be part of our movement for change. \nBook at EventBrite: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/constructing-excellence-february-members-forum-tickets-30514128580
