SUMMARY:Kingsfield Academy: Energy Transition Leadership Course
DESCRIPTION:The Energy Transition Leadership program provides a basis from which project teams can explore and prepare for leading projects in new energy sectors. \nWith the drive towards Net Zero gathering pace\, the need to develop requisite leadership skills for this energy transition environment has never been greater. The challenges that arise out of projects with “first of its kind” (FOIK) emerging technologies\, in new markets\, and with unfamiliar contracting arrangements require changes of mindset and\, consequently\, a greater emphasis on leadership at every level of the project organisation. \nThe Energy Transition Leadership program aims to address the key areas to be considered and managed in order to execute profitable projects for contractors and present viable capital investments for owners. The course involves 4 workshops\, to view the dates\, times and leaders of each\, as well as price\, take a look at the flyer. \nSessions include:\n\nIntroduction & context of Energy Transition projects\nSystems thinking for Energy Transition projects\nContracting & Commercial Leadership for Energy Transition projects\nProject leadership for Energy Transition\n\nMore information can be found on the Kingsfield Academy website.

SUMMARY:Innovation Exchange Group
DESCRIPTION:Innovation Exchange\nThe built environment and construction industry face constant external and internal challenges that require a systemic approach to innovation to turn these challenges into opportunity. Innovation is vital to driving continuous improvement and to achieve our net zero ambitions\, although it often suffers from hype with a lot of noise and a lack of implementation. \nConsultation with our members has identified a space for Constructing Excellence members to come together with innovators and researchers to explore innovation and its wider context. To give opportunity for innovators and researchers to share and explore ideas\, learn from each other and consider how the innovation can move to implementation. Led by Ben Pritchard\, Head of Innovation Management at Invennt\, the Innovation Exhange group will meet regularly\, either online or through visits to inspiring innovative places and organisations\, to jointly explore how to move from innovation to mainstream. \nOn Wednesday 8th November\, we’re kicking off with an online session led by the chair\, Ben Pritchard\, talking about the Innovation Management Process\, which provides a framework for organisations to give their innovation purpose and direction. Invennt’s innovation management system provides this and has allowed them to create new services\, new products and roll out a number of productivity improvements. This culminated in Invennt becoming the first SME in the construction industry to achieve the BSI kitemark for Innovation management.

SUMMARY:Platforms and Circularity Roundtable
DESCRIPTION:Constructing Excellence is partnering with colleagues UKGBC and IOM3 for an exploratory roundtable on the role that platforms can play in enabling the circular economy.  Platforms and standardised approaches have a huge role to play in delivering quality and productivity and will play a huge role in enabling manufacturers to innovate products that deliver genuine value for end-users. \n  \nCircularity is one of the eight core principles set out in the Construction Innovation Hub’s Platform Rulebook*. ‘To ensure that products have been designed for disassembly\, repair\, or reuse at the end of use and that the manufacturer has provided detailed information on maintenance\, reuse\, disassembly and recovery options.’ \n  \nThis roundtable will explore the role that platforms can play in unlocking circularity and the circularity considerations that those developing platforms need to incorporate.\nJoin us for what promises to be a lively and informative discussion.\n  \n**** The Construction Innovation Hub’s Platform Rulebook defines platforms as: \n• The kit of parts\, associated production processes\, knowledge\, people and relationships required to deliver all or part of construction projects using a platform approach: \n• A product platform provides a stable core which is configured and combined with complementary components (via defined interfaces) to suit a particular project. \n• A product platform also includes the processes\, tools and equipment required for assembly

SUMMARY:Constructing Excellence Conference 2024
DESCRIPTION:The Constructing Excellence Annual Conference brings together key decision makers from across the Constructing Excellence Movement and wider construction industry to explore the burning issues of the day and how they relate to Constructing Excellence Mission and Vision. The 2024 Annual Conference will focus on the theme: Delivering Tomorrow Today: Act Now for a Better Future. \n  \nDelivering Tomorrow Today: Act Now for a Better Future\nWith so many drivers for change in the built environment\, the risks of inaction outweigh the opportunity to do things better. On so many issues\, from climate change through skills shortages and inflation through to building safety\, many of the solutions exist but organisations are failing to act at the scale and pace required to deliver the required shift in performance. \nA sense that the optimum solution lies somewhere in the future and too many options can lead to procrastination and inaction. We owe it to our future selves and future generations to act now. The future can’t wait!  \n  \nPanels\nDuring the event\, we will host 4 panels focusing on: \n\nFuture Climate\nFuture Society\nFuture Major Projects\nFuture Delivery\n\n  \nSponsors\n \nExhibitors\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\nSupporters\n \n\nFor further details about the event\, view our Conference Page.\nTo discover opportunities for sponsorship\, see our 2024 Brochure.

SUMMARY:Innovation Exchange Group
DESCRIPTION:The built environment and construction industry face constant external and internal challenges that require a systemic approach to innovation to turn these challenges into opportunity. Led by Ben Pritchard\, Head of Innovation Management at Invennt\, the Innovation Exchange group will meet regularly\, either online or through visits to inspiring innovative places and organisations\, to jointly explore how to move from innovation to mainstream. \nJoin us for the next meeting on 28th February\, at 10:00am\, where we will be discussing ‘Creating a culture that allows innovation to thrive’.
