SUMMARY:Major Projects - Driving long term value through collaborative procurement
DESCRIPTION:An online meeting organised jointly with Constructing Excellence and ECI to explore the impact of collaborative procurement approaches.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout this Event\n\n\n“…Collaborative construction procurement comprises a set of processes and relationships through which teams can develop\, share and apply information in ways that improve the design\, construction and operation of their projects. It supports team selection and team integration\, and it offers a fresh approach to legal and cultural issues that can otherwise reduce efficiency and waste valuable resources…” (Collaborative Construction Procurement and Improved Value\, by David Mosey\, 2019\, Wiley Blackwell). \nCollaborative and alliancing procurement approaches have been widely demonstrated to deliver better project outcomes in the built environment\, yet their widespread uptake remains slow.   Approaches such as Insurance Backed Alliancing\, Framework Alliancing Contracts\, 2 stage open book etc. have been show to deliver better outcomes for owners and their supply chain partners.  This virtual roundtable hosted jointly with the European Construction Institute and Constructing Excellence aims to bring together owners\, supply chain partners and experts in collaborative procurement to understand how these approaches can be successfully applied in the engineering construction sector. \nOutline agenda: \n\nNew models of procurement and alliancing approaches – Prof David Mosey\, Kings College\nOwner perspective – Paul McGregor\, Shell\nProcuring for Productivity – Adam Newbould\, CE Nuclear\nECITB Collaboration Toolkit – ECITB\n\nThis will be followed by an interactive session where participants can share examples\, ask questions and hold interactive discussions. \nFull joining instructions will be sent in advance of the meeting. \n\nhttps://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/major-projects-driving-long-term-value-through-collaborative-procurement-tickets-100806232154
