SUMMARY:Breakfast Seminar: The Productive Office
DESCRIPTION:This seminar is dedicated to the impact of indoor environmental qualities on productivity. LCMB and Oxford Brookes University\, together with their Consortium Partners  will discuss their findings on The Whole Life Performance Plus project\, a research study supported by Innovate UK and the EPSRC. \nThe project has produced a productivity guide to help measure and improve workplace performance and productivity. The aim is for the tested solution to then be developed into a software-based platform that can dynamically control the indoor environmental conditions to maximise occupant productivity and comfort conditions\, whilst minimising energy use and costs in commercial office environments. \nCome and join us on 29th November at Wedlake Bell\, London and participate in the thought-provoking debate and discussion. \n\nClick here to register

SUMMARY:Asset management workshop
DESCRIPTION:In collaboration with Bouygues UK\, and Bouygues Energy and Services as industry partners throughout last year\, a process was developed that governs data flow between all building stakeholders i.e. (Client/FM team\, Architect\, Design Consultants\, Main Contractor\, and Sub Contractors). The process is based on COBie standard and it includes sub-processes of data management using COBie for each of the RIBA stages. \nUnder the supervision of two professors from the Institute for Digital Innovation in the Built Environment\, a first focus group was held which was internal to Bouygues UK to discuss and validate the process\, in which we had useful discussion and feedback. This focus group with the CE Asset Management Theme Group aims to initiate a wider discussion with industry about the proposed process framework. \nDuring the workshop\, Mr. Ahmed Al Naggar\, a PhD candidate at UCL will present the conceptual framework of the proposed process which is already a research paper under publication at the “Journal of Facility Management”\, and then present the actual technical process that outlines data-flow in alignment with RIBA stages clarifying the role of each stakeholder; what data to be provided\, when and to what quality standards. \nAfter the presentation\, we will open a discussion about the process\, and collect feedback that will be used to refine the process\, and will be included in the second technical research paper\, of course with acknowledgment to the CE asset management group members. \nRegister here
