David will be joined by his colleague Prof Jacqui Glass\, who will reflect on what this might mean for our industry today and in the future \nThe importance of culture in implementing change \nShaun McCarthy OBE – Chair supply chain sustainability school\, previouslythe Chair for the Commission for a Sustainable London 2012 and was awarded an OBE for services to sustainability and the London Olympics \nShaun McCarthy will share his experience from London 2012 and work with organisations such as FIFA\, the IOC and Adidas will discuss the cultural change required to embed a different way of thinking and a different way of doing things\, and how sporting organisations are embracing sustainability \nEmbracing data for a competitive edge \nChris Gage – IBM – Digital Lead – Industrial Products\, Global Business Services \nAt IBM Watson IoT\, data analytics are helping sporting organisations better understand their performance\, understand their weaknesses\, and build not only marginal gains but creating a competitive edge driving excellence in what they do. \nChris will show us the benefits sport is finding through understanding their data\, and utilising their data challenging our industry to do more with ours. \nTeamwork \nMarcus Harling – Partner Burges Salmon + sporting individual \nMarcus will discuss what we can learn from mentalities in sporting teams and how this can be adopted in construction alliances \nKeynote speaker \nDr Peter Bonfield\, OBE FREng\, Chief Executive of the BRE Group. \nDr Peter Bonfield joined BRE as a research scientist in 1992. He progressed through the organisation to become Chief Executive Officer of the BRE Group of companies in January 2012. \nPeter is passionate about the role that building science can play in finding solutions to the challenges that the built environment faces in delivering buildings\, homes and communities that work for people\, the environment and the economy. \nFrom 2006 until 2012 he was on part-time secondment to the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA)\, where he co-created the sustainable development strategy and took the lead on the sustainable procurement of construction products. \nIn 2013 former Environment Secretary Owen Paterson asked him to chair Grown in Britain\, an initiative aimed at creating a sustainable future for UK woodlands and forests. In 2014 Paterson appointed him to lead a government-wide drive to improve public procurement of food. Bonfield’s recommendations to Government were published in July 2014. \nIn August 2015\, the Secretaries of State for the Department of Energy & Climate Change (now BEIS) and Department for Communities and Local Government appointed Peter to lead a Review of Consumer Protection\, Advice\, Standards and Enforcement for UK Housing Energy Efficiency.
