Planning Today for a Secure Tomorrow

2 November, 2017 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm UTC+0

On 2nd November 2017, BRE (the Building Research Establishment) will be hosting a free-to-attend event at their Watford campus that will consider the future role of the planning system in creating safe and secure urban environments. The event has been organised in support of the recent letter issued to all planning officers by Steve Quartermain CBE, Chief Planning Officer.

Hear the views of the public and private sector, with key representatives from the Department for Communities and Local Government, the National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO) and Paul Seddon, Senior Vice President of the Planning Officers Society. The event will showcase best practice and discuss how we can deliver better outcomes from existing planning mechanisms. The event will explore an increased role for the private sector in protecting the public interest and discuss the tools that can be deployed to provide the necessary trust and assurance in proposed solutions. There will also be plenty of time to network and engage with security advisors, planners, developers and end users.
