BE:Global – insights from our world leading women

A collaboration between built environment industries to unearth and explore the global opportunities for women and men, and the skills (and mindset) needed to succeed. 

Details :

The world is witnessing enormous economic transformation. To some degree fostered by the global flows of goods and services but mostly driven by the rapid advancements in technology.  A laptop and an internet connection is all that is needed for many individuals to work (and live) around the world in ways not seen before. In addition, what with many companies looking to grow Internationally, expatriate secondments, place based projects and relocation packages are becoming more common place.

With these opportunities will undoubtedly come a number of challenges, but what are they in practice? and how to they differ for women and men?  Most will play out in similar way for sure, but women may find themselves having to consider variances in cultural practices, salaries and general expectations differently.

This evening reception will explore these issues and uncover the secrets of International career success.

Participants will hear from a mix of speakers’ working across the global platform including their experiences as expatriates, in nailing work-life balance, in adapting to different cultural practices and in benefiting from technological advancements.

The event will also be CPD certified by the BRE Academy; contributing to professional development and institutional accreditation #BEGlobal

  • Naomi Climer – President and Fellow of the IET, Chair of the UK Government (DCMS) Future Communications Challenge Group (FCCG) looking at 5G and Chair of the International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) Council.
  • Amanda Clack – Partner at EY and Head of Infrastructure (Advisory) for the UK and Ireland. Fellow of RICS, the Association for Project Management, the Royal Society of Arts, the Institute of Consulting and the Institute of Management. Companion of the Institute of Management, Certified Management Consultant and an Affiliate of the Institute of Accountants for England and Wales.
